Dr. Margaret Oulton (PhD’75) — a professor and prenatal researcher who made a discovery that would eventually lead to the safe delivery of over 10,000 infants across our region — is the inaugural recipient of the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Golden Eagle Lifetime Achievement Award.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean met with students from a local Halifax junior high to tour The Secret Codes: African Nova Scotian Quilts, an exhibition curated by David Woods featuring quilts and paintings made primarily by African Nova Scotian women.

A portrait of Mi’kmaw author and activist Daniel Paul painted by renowned Mi’kmaw artist Alan Syliboy is set to be displayed at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ in recognition of his contributions as a Mi’kmaw historian.

This month, work begins at the Killam Memorial Library on a deep energy retrofit that is projected to reduce both energy and water consumption in the building by more than 50 per cent. Closures will be scheduled to minimize disruptions to users.
