The FASS Essay Competition is an annual contest for students registered at 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ.Ìý There are three competitions with a prize of $7,000 each (top prize amounts for each competition that may be awarded for the 2025-2026 academic year):  , the and the .Ìý Contest deadline for the 2026 competition was Monday, February 23, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.Ìý

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, hosted a ceremony where the winners of the three parts of the 2026 FASS Essay Competition each presented excerpts from their winning papers. Pictured above with FASS Dean Jennifer Andrews are the three winners that gave presentations at the event: Eve Dewing, Emily Moore and Mia MacKenzie. Additionally, Dr. Andrews congratulated the runners-up in each competition and Dr. George Mencher shared the background and story behind the Irving and Jeanne Glovin Award (funded by the Oskar Schindler Humanities Foundation).

We were very happy to be able to award runner-up prizes in each of the three parts of the 2026 FASS Essay Competition. Congratulations to everyone that participated and placed as finalists and winners in this year's competition.
