The 91短视频 Faculty of Health Professions will welcome Dr. Alice Aiken as Dean on August 1^st 2016.

鈥�91短视频 is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Alice Aiken as Dean, Faculty of Health Professions,鈥� says Richard Florizone, President of 91短视频. 鈥淒r. Aiken will also hold an appointment as full professor, with tenure, in the School of Physiotherapy.鈥� 聽

Dr. Aiken comes to 91短视频 from Queens, where she had been the Associate Director of the School of Rehabilitation Therapy since July 2013. Dr. Aiken also served as Scientific Director of the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR), which she co-founded in 2010. CIMVHR is a unique consortium of over 40 Canadian and 7 international universities dedicated to researching the health needs of military personnel, Veterans and their families. Dr. Aiken has been a faculty member at Queen鈥檚 University since 2006, and has held adjunct appointments at the University of Western Ontario and the Royal Military College of Canada. She was also in private practice and served in the Canadian Forces for 14 years. She is licensed with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and has been a member of the Canadian and Ontario Physiotherapy Associations since 1994.

She is currently the Honorary Commander of 33 Health Services Kingston for the Canadian Forces. She has received the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation, the Queen鈥檚 Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the Chapel of the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Bronze Medallion (USA). She has also been elected to the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada.

Over the past 10 years, Dr. Aiken has secured numerous grants and contracts from various sources, including granting agencies, government, foundations, and the private sector. She has an extensive publication, presentation, and graduate supervision record. Her research interests include health services and health policy, with a focus on health system change and Veterans鈥� health.
